2014: Blessings and Unexpected Surprises
As we wrap up 2014, I want to thank all of our patients and community for the opportunity and honor to serve you. This year was filled with some changes, some new faces, some new opportunities, and lots of water in what we refer to as The Colleyville Vision Flood of 2014. Unfortunately, it coincided with our kiddos getting ready for their back to school eye exams. Our CVA team worked diligently and our CVA patients were patient patients and we all made it! Thank you!
CVA had several frame trunk shows this year, a back-to-school event, a Fall celebration, a 5k run as a team, as well as other fun times! The CVA team also participated in several global eye mission related activities, Lions club, community and local school events.
Education is one of the keystones to our practice. I am so proud of my team as this year they became certified in their respective areas. I joined my team and achieved Diplomate of American Board of Optometry. We now have a team of board certified opticians (ABO), most technicians and our Patient Relations Coordinators have achieved Certified Paraoptometric certifications (CPO), our contact lens technician is National Contact Lens Examiner Certified (NCLE). We spent many hours in both local, state and national conferences and continuing education. Additionally, we attended customer care seminars, held weekly meetings as well as daily huddles in order to be the most cohesive staff we can be for our patients.
I would be remiss if I didn’t express my faith and gratitude during this season of Christmas. Many of you, my patients, share your faith, your stories, your joys, your struggles , as we share that annual eye examination time. You are gifts to me all year long and make my career a joy each day. I cannot imagine doing anything differently than I do each day. I understand that you have choices when selecting your health care providers and I am thankful that you have chosen our team to entrust your eye health to this year and for many patients for so many years.
May each of you have a wonderful and safe holiday season!
